The initial startup phase of The NFCB Low Power FM Initiative was headed up by Kai Aiyetoro (former Director of Low Power FM) and made possible by funding from the Ford Foundation and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, from April, 2002 to October, 2004.  We now encourage LPFM stations to continue receiving the benefits of membership by becoming a member of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters.
